GLANCE EYEWEAR GALLERY

Introduced to the South Bend area in 2001 by opticians Lenore Tracey and Jennifer Cole, Glance Eyewear Gallery offers an opportunity to be seen not only in a different frame, but a different frame of mind, as they have turned their passion for eyewear and original artwork into art for the face.

Catering to upscale and sophisticated optical clients and desiring to bring them a new concept of true luxury eyewear, Glance has elevated eyewear from simply being functional to being an ideal component of personal style and statement.  Every face is a unique work of art and is deserving of an equally unique piece of eyewear.

Their long-term relationships with European designers ensure the continual introduction of the most contemporary trends and styles, offering limited-edition, luxury eyewear of unparalleled artisanship.  The unrivaled personal service makes every visit to Glance an exceptional experience.

The combination of art and eyewear in the gallery highlight what Glance represents – original eyewear designs as art.  At Glance they believe a person is not an imitation, they are an original work of art.

Jake's On The Square

The amazing story of “Life is good” began in 1989 when Bert and John Jacobs, living out of their van, traveled up and down the East Coast selling to college dorms.

In 1994, they adopted the face of Jake, a beret-wearing, sun-glassed character with an easygoing nature and a big smile on his face, and Rocket, his trusty dog. They combined Jake and Rocket with the words “Life is good.” Jake is described as a cultural hero, an original, an optimist, a leader, a free spirit, and the company describes the brand as timeless, positive, colorful, simple, refreshing, inspiring, engaging, fun, wise, humorous and grateful. It laughs at risk and celebrates the opportunity to try.

Ellen and Terry Klinck decided to laugh at risk and celebrate the opportunity to try when they opened Jake’s on the Square. Since then they’ve been living the good life, because they do what they like and like what they do.
