Great Irish & American Fare in a Casual Pub

Looking for a great place to have a quick lunch, unwind after work, crank it up at night or just stop in for a pint?  Then Matey's Irish Pub is the place to be for pleasant conversation or a little "craic" (Gaelic for “good fun”). We are an adult eating and drinking establishment - the only Irish Pub in Crown Point - and smoking is allowed.

We have a great mix of Irish-inspired favorites, such as Bangers & Mash, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Fish & Chips and Irish Nachos. Stop in for our Belfast Brawler, Dublin Firecracker, Mick Burger, plus traditional bar favorites or our Friday night fish fry. We serve our homemade soup of the day and always feature our Cajun Seafood Chowder and Chili – stolen from our restaurant in Michigan City! Theo's Steak and Seafood

theos2012springOur family is here to serve you and your family with the best service and our unique culinary style. We pride ourselves on delivering steakhouse service and portions at a variety of price points.

Our menu features a diverse lineup of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Appetizers include Greek favorites like saganaki (flaming cheese pie), calamari and kabobs. We offer a wide selection of the finest steaks and chops along with an array of the freshest seafood, chicken and pasta selections, many of which are cooked in the Greek style. Our Greek-style lamb chops, five small, but thick chops marinated in olive oil, lemon, garlic and oregano, are perfectly broiled so the interior remains tender and juicy and are arranged around a medley of sautéed broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. The ribeye steak is served with four or five drunken mushrooms intensely flavored with red wine. In fact, we are one of the few restaurants that chart our steaks on the menu, something our customers definitely appreciate. Dinner entrees come with soup and salad, and the portions are generous.

Albano's Pizzeria

For 53 years, Albano’s has served up classic pizza in Michigan City. How popular is the pizza? First, Albano’s doesn’t deliver. Second, the “I Love Albano’s Pizza” Facebook page (created by a fan) has 1,175 members from Australia to Arizona.

Jim Albano Jr. marvels at the success of the restaurant that was started by his dad, Jim, and his uncle, Russell, in 1957.

“Pizza is what we’re known for,” says Albano, “but we also serve a lot of Italian beef sandwiches and tacos.”

If that sounds like an odd combination, Albano admits it is, but it’s also one that’s proven popular among Albano’s regulars. It came about on a trip to Chicago by his father, who bought some tacos there, liked them and figured they would be easy to fix.

“We were the first to sell tacos in Michigan City,” says Albano. A few years ago, the restaurant revamped its menu and when word got out, regulars flooded the place with requests not to dump tacos.

Carlson's Drive-In

“Serving since 1947”

Carlson’s Drive-In in Michigan City, IN is still attracting happy diners with a nostalgic atmosphere and the best, most unique “fast” food around!  Folks love the carhops, introduced in the good old days by previous owner Marty Rebac, who still likes to work there even though he’s retired.

Today, owners John and Lori Hermann pour the same kind of passion into this magical spot, in its present location for the past 22 years.  John and Lori have three principles that guide Carlson’s Drive-In:  exceptional service, great food at a fair price, and a nostalgic, clean, traditional environment.  The fun surroundings are surpassed only by the amazing food, reminiscent of drive-in days gone by.  Time-honored dining traditions draw faithful customers again and again - - try the all-beef, bun-length Eckrich hot dogs with all the fixings, and don’t miss the lip-smacking chili and BBQ pork, both from well-guarded secret recipes.  Carlson’s Drive-In is proud to offer a distinctive-tasting root beer, homemade daily on site.  You can’t beat that creamy foam-topped brew, still deliciously served in a tall frosty mug.

We are seasonal from February through early October.

Come on down and so we can enjoy your company!

We are located at:

118 W Coolspring Ave.
