Founders Wine Celler

founders-ad-pgWine Master Leonard Olson planted his first grapes in Berrien County in 1968.

Today, Founder’s Winery has built a well-deserved reputation for its quality products, from the Founders Chardonnay and Founders Riesling to the Lake Michigan Shore Cabernet Sauvignon and Lake Michigan Shore Vidal Blanc Ice-Wine.

In all, Founder’s Winery produces 25 wines and takes pride in having established the first commercial European grape variety vineyard in Michigan and the Midwest.

Located in downtown Baroda in the old mill building near the water tower, Founder’s Winery is a place where customers visit to relax at a 40-foot bar while savoring the locally produced wine and having the opportunity to view the entire operation of the winery.

Founder’s Winery operates from a 10,000-square-foot facility and produces about 9,000 cases of wine a year. Customers from Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio, many of them regulars, come back time and again.

We like to have fun with our customers, and we’re confident that when you visit us you will find a wine that suits your palate.
